Bugthorpe is a tiny village with ancient roots stretching back before the Roman invasion. This village is chronicled in the DOMESDAY BOOK. Having a population of around 100 people and being on land owned by the Earl of Halifax, Bugthorpe has escaped the ravages of modern development. It is built around the village green , with St Andrew’s church being the most dominant building.
